Support Worker - Personal Care

 

If you are a compassionate and down to earth person with an ability to communicate well with people of all ages and ability levels, then you could be the person we need!

Glasshouse Country Care is looking for someone who is as passionate as we are about enhancing the quality of life of our wonderful clients. Our main objective is to provide support to the aged, as well as people living with a disability, enabling them to continue to live independently in their own homes.

 

We support consumers across the Sunshine Coast Region.

 

What can we offer you?

  • A casual position with a minimum 10hrs with the possibility of up to 30hrs a week.

  • A friendly supportive team.

  • Training and support.

Your duties will include:

Personal Care

Showering, dressing, grooming, medication assistance, stoma care.

Domestic Duties

General household cleaning, meal prep and cooking.

Transport

Assistance with shopping, taking clients to medical appointments and social outings.

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Have a Certificate III or higher in Aged Care or Disability.

  • Hold a current QLD driver's licence.

  • Be able to work within the Policies and Procedures of Glasshouse Country Care.

  • Be able to apply for a positive notice police check and yellow card.

  • Have a reliable vehicle that is registered and comprehensively insured to use for work in Queensland.

  • Have a reliable smart phone.

  • Be able to manage your time effectively and work independently.

  • Be flexible and able to work between the hours of 6am and 8pm, Mon-Sun.

  • Have at least 12 month's work experience in community care.

  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate.

Board Member (Voluntary)

 

Glasshouse Country Care is looking for new members to join our Board of Directors. These rewarding volunteer positions will appeal to people who have a genuine interest in ensuring older people and people with a disability are supported in their community.

 

Some of the expertise and skills we are looking to add to our Board include Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Legal, Human Resources and Fundraising.

 

What can you expect?

Contribute to the strategic direction of the organisation.

Your skills, enthusiasm and commitment.

Your attendance at approximately 8 meetings per year.

Raising awareness of the organisation in the local community.

Volunteer Driver

 

Glasshouse Country Care is seeking volunteers to transport our clients to medical appointments, shopping and social outings.

Flexible hours Monday – Friday. Just tell us when you’re available.

We ask you to use your own vehicle.

Generous reimbursement based on km travelled.

Full drivers licence required.
