Service Delivery Support – Maintenance and Resource Rostering Worker

 

The position is to ensure the efficient and effective scheduling and coordination of maintenance staff and associated resources. The role ensures the efficient operation of maintenance services in compliance with aged care standards and legislative requirements. The position is responsible for providing a range of timely and accurate support to ensure maintenance jobs are rostered quickly and efficiently, including receiving referrals, and rostering services that are designed to maintain the safety and independence of older people and people with a disability.

DUTIES

  • Receive client referrals and process through the GHCC onboarding system

  • Act as a point of contact for maintenance requests from clients

  • Develop and manage maintenance staff rosters to meet service needs and compliance requirements.

  • Allocate tasks and resources based on staff skills, availability, and workload demands.

  • Coordinate emergency and ad hoc maintenance requests promptly.

  • Liaise with internal teams and external contractors for scheduling and logistics.

  • Monitor and adjust rosters in response to changes such as leave, absences, or shifting priorities.

  • Maintain accurate records of staff hours, job completion times, and resource allocation.

  • Support compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements (e.g. aged care and disability standards).

  • Assist with reporting, data entry, and documentation related to maintenance activities.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement in rostering systems and maintenance coordination processes.

  • Administer all staff rosters that enable an effective balance to be achieved between optimising staffing efficiency and maximising client satisfaction.

  • Work collaboratively with the Home Support Coordinator and Head of Maintenance to ensure rosters reflect resource needs to meet service delivery demands.

  • Ensure the roster is completed and available to staff in a timely manner

  • With the support of the Home Support Coordinator and General Manager, actively identify any foreseeable capacity gaps to ensure service delivery is optimised.

  • Liaise with staff regarding changes and updates to the roster.

  • Answer any phone enquiries regarding client enquiries

  • Communicate respectfully with all individuals including service users, representatives, staff and the community

  • Data entering organisational Data Management System

  • Participate in education and training opportunities

  • Promote safety by following organisational WHS requirements and guidelines

  • Contribute to continuous improvement by involvement in staff meetings, planning days, and feedback mechanisms

  • Follow Policies and Procedures

  • Other duties as requested by the General Manager.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Experience with computerised data management systems

  • Experience with rostering staff or scheduling work activities / resources.

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.

  • Sound understanding of WHS responsibilities and safe work practices.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

 

Desirable:

  • Experience in building, maintenance, or trades-related roles.

  • Qualification in working with older people or those with a disability.

  • Previous experience in aged care, health care, or residential care setting.

  • First Aid and /or CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

  • Current driver’s licence.

Police check, less than 3 years old (or willingness to complete one)

Ability to work in a team and independently
Be self-motivated, resourceful and innovative
Knowledge of relevant community resources
A high standard of written and verbal communication skills.

 

This position is a permanent part time position for 30-35 hours per week.
