Lifestyle & Leisure Worker

 

The Lifestyle & Leisure worker will provide direct support to service users of Glasshouse Country Care within the centre-based day care for aged and or disability programs.

 

DUTIES

  • Develop and maintain a professional and effective rapport with program participants including older people and people with a disability.

  • Implementing and evaluating a program of activities designed to meet the individual needs of seniors attending the day centre program at Glasshouse Country Care.

  • Encourage and support all clients to participate in a diverse range of activities and encourage social interaction.

  • Ensure all activities and outings undertaken are within the policies and procedures of Glasshouse Country Care.

  • Source and maintain appropriate resources for delivering programs.

  • Maintain effective communication with all team members taking into consideration program ideas and suggestions from team members.

  • Complete client documentation appropriate to a centre-based program setting including individual support plans for each client and reviews.

  • Promote safety by following organisational WHS requirements and guidelines.

  • Communicate respectfully with all individuals including service users, representatives, staff and the community.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement by involvement in meetings, planning days, and feedback mechanisms.

  • Participate in education and training opportunities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Certificate III in Disability Care

  • Certificate III in Aged Care or Community Services

Desirable

  • Certificate III in Lifestyle & Leisure

  • Understanding of Data Management Systems/IT
